Being one of the largest non-profit health systems in the United States, CommonSpirit Health has a unique opportunity to improve health outcomes and lead the Health Equity discussion. Currently underway is the development of an organizational framework, strategies, goals and metrics to hold us accountable to make an impact. A leadership structure sponsored by the CEO has been developed to oversee and coordinate CommonSpirit’s efforts including the Health Executive Diversity Council, the Health Equity Task Force and the Vulnerable Populations Council. These efforts intend to align and frame the Health Equity work and position it as a core element of any current and future organizational planning efforts.
