White House Maternal Health Day of Action

We are so appreciative of VP Harris’ focus on #maternalhealth #disparities with the White House Maternal Health Call to Action Summit today, which includes our commitments at CommonSpirit Health to improve the way we care for #pregnantwomen across our country.

At the Summit, the Vice President will convene Cabinet Secretaries, Member of Congress, local elected officials, White House officials, advocates, and celebrities to discuss the maternal health crisis. The Summit’s programming will be livestreaming on and on the Vice President’s social media pages (Twitter and Facebook), beginning at (10:00 AM ET) Additionally, a number of our partners have recorded Direct to Camera testimonials on the importance of maternal health that will be streamed for you to view on

In conjunction with the summit, the Vice President will announce a new Department of Health and Human Services report showing the impact of pregnancy-related Medicaid coverage, and that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is proposing the establishment of “Birthing-Friendly” A MATERNAL HEALTH-RELATED hospital designation and guidance to states on how to cover Medicaid postpartum services for a year. These are initial commitments to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity, and ensure safe pregnancy and childbirth for America’s mothers.
