Pop Health Innovation & Policy team peer review abstract at AHA Advancing Care Conference Mar 7-9

“Our Population Health Innovation & Policy team had a peer review abstract accepted to the upcoming American Hospital Association (AHA) Advancing Care Conference. The abstract highlighted our innovative work at CommonSpirit in developing and launching a mentorship program and learning community to support front-line clinicians providing medications for addiction treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder. The MAT Champions (MATch) Mentorship Program connected six CommonSpirit clinician champions, or mentors, with six clinician mentees new to MAT practice in a first pilot cohort that wrapped up six months of activities late last year. While unable to present the abstract in-person at the AHA conference in Chicago (03/07-09), Dr. Julian MItton and his colleagues were honored to share their work as a framework for other health systems to consider as they seek to increase their patient’s access to evidence-based addiction care and support their clinicians providing MAT.
